Dear Geoffrey,
I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thank you, to you, your company and to Scott for three years of incredible devotion to me and in turn to my family. Your talents as a Prosthetist and the many assistive devices you have created for me have allowed me to carry on a much more fulfilling lifestyle as well as continuing to participate in the many rounds of golf that I am able to play.
Over the last three years you have been overwhelmingly generous in your sponsorship for me to travel to, and play in, many golf tournaments across Canada. As I am sure you are aware of the travel and hotel accommodations represent the highest part of the total expenses incurred at every tournament that I trave to and without your help it would be impossible for me to attend most of these tournaments, for this I cannot thank you enough.
In July 2005, I was fortunate enough to place at the 3rd at the BC Games for the Disabled, held in the Nanaimo Country Club as well as placing 2nd in the "B" flight of the 2005 Canadian National Amputee Open, held in August at Angus Glen Golf and Country Club in Markham Ontario. I truly hope that we can continue this team effort in years to come.
I look forward to many more years of friendship with you and Scott and of course, I know that the excellent services provided by everyone at Custom Prosthetics will always be fantastic. Thank you again for all of your very hard work, your sponsorship, and most importantly, your friendship.
With Great Respect
Derek B.

Geoffrey Hall at Custom Prosthetic Services is my fourth and easily the best prosthetist I have had. Eleven years ago I had a ‘right’ below the knee amputation as a result of a motor vehicle accident in rural Ontario. Part of my issues were a 2 hour drive to my closest practitioner. Moving to the Duncan area here on Vancouver Island in 2016, I have my choice between Victoria and Nanaimo, a total of 4 prosthetists. After reading the website summaries, I decided that Custom Prosthetic Services was where I would start.
For our first appointment, Geoff asked me to bring my three prosthetic legs in for an assessment. As well as my primary leg, I had a ‘running’ leg. I had been a runner all my life and had completed the Toronto Marathon in 1998. I also had a backup leg which I required because of the distance to my then prosthetist, especially during the winter. Geoff suggested we upgrade all three legs and my insurance company accepted the proposal.
My primary leg is amazing, I could wear it all day. The trial run for the running leg was a successful lap of a ¼ mile track, and an immediate recognition that the rest of my body was in need of conditioning after an 11 year hiatus.
Where we now live is hilly, like many of the residential areas on the Island. I am doing a significant power walk almost daily with some significant hill climbs. My longest time so far is 55 minutes. I am training again and loving it, and hoping to enter a 5K event in 2017. Thank you Geoff, so far you have made a significant difference to my life and I believe better things are yet to come!
